You Don't Have to Have Something "Wrong" with You

Collaborative Counseling was formed in an effort to change the narrative many of us have heard about therapy--that's it's something we have to do in order to fix what is wrong with us. This idea creates feelings of shame and unworthiness, which lead to a sense of isolation, and causes further suffering. Therapy, with me, is not about a being analyzed and fixed. Therapy is a collaborative process that you have chosen because you have a desire for growth, improvement and change. I believe that, at times, life is hard for all of us, and like Brene Brown has said, "We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to."
